Taking a Plunge into Watercooling

Thread Starter
Hello, after much headache with my H70 I've decided to just go all out and make a full loop. Here are my specs that will be cooled:

AMD Phenom x6 1100T Black Edition
ASRock Extreme 4 970
XFX ATi Radeon HD 5970 Black Edition

I plan on getting an NZXT Switch 810 because it advertises that it can hold both my GPU and the rad I'm planning on getting. Here's what I'm thinking about right now.

Koolance 3x120 High Flow Copper Rad

XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bay Pump and Res

Swiftech Apoge HD Water Block

EK-FC5970

EK-FC5970 VGA Backplate

Primoflex 1/2ID 3/4OD Blue Tubing

Primochill Anti-Kink Coils 3/4OD

Primochill Extreme Coolant 32oz

XSPC G1/4" to 1/2" Barb

Jagg Oil Coolers Hose Clamp

Is there anything that I should be concerned about? Should this provide good cooling when I decide to OC my GPU and CPU? Also is there anything I don't need that will just be a waste of money? Thanks for your help

You may run into some issues with the X20 and a apogee HD. I've heard that they are quite restrictive. If you go with the HD, you may want to consider the dual outlet swiftech radiator to use in junction with the water block. That would also require more than one outlet to a third waterblock in parallel.

And could you recommend a good CPU block that isn't as restrictive for a similar or lower price?
Thanks!

What's your budget? There are a lot of things I would recommend changing to be honest.

I'd rather go with a raystorm and mcp35x

rad, what fans are you going to run? at 30 fpi you are going to need some pretty high static fans.

Hose clamps, that's a silly amount for worm drive clamps....grab them at home depot or something. Like $5 for 20 of em.

If you use 7/16 id tubing and 1/2 barbs it will hold with any clamps. I like compression fittings myself but they cost more than barbs

7/16th hose fits VERY tight over 1/2 barbs you don't need clamps, there not gonna leak or come off it actually takes alot of force to remove the hose.
Also dont really need the anti kink coils, coolant. Distilled water works great
The waterblock for the cpu would be better with a xspc raystorm or a ek hf.
This is what i would get

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_413_292&products_id=24505<-- tubing get however much you think you need
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_951&products_id=30286<-- barbs get however many you need
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=28871<--6.99 killkoil Its a must have
Then get your block and backplate this setup will exeed the other one by far.
I own the pump and the radiator cept my rad is the xflow one and they work amazing.
And btw i had a rasa kit them res/pump combos are a pita to fill full/the ress pump is also fairly weak from my view of owning it.
OR just get the rasa kit cause you wanted the pump/ress neways
