Hi Guys,

Curious about the business side of games and what constitutues a "successful" game in terms of finances.

For instance, I read an interview with the dark souls lead developer who wasn't sure if there would be a sequel even though he wanted to make one.

Then looking at VGcharz, http://www.vgchartz.com/game/47349/dark-souls/USA/ the game has sold over a million units worldwide on ps3 and about 400,000 on xbox, that's since October 2011.

So with a typical 2 year development cycle, what kind of numbers does a game need to sell these days to be a success and warrant a sequel?
