This thread is going into the PC Games because I feel that PC games will always overdo the potential of console gaming. (Just look at Skyrim on PC and then Skyrim on PS3 to see the difference)
There will always be hardware limitations with console gaming and it's true that a lot of games are highly optimized for the console. Uncharted 3 truly does look amazing, but for me it just doesn't give the same shock and awe feeling that GTA IV with the iCEnhancer mod gives. Others may or may not disagree with me on this mod - if you haven't already checked it out for yourself then please do!
I think there is something to say about user mods too - that it's possible make a good looking PC game into a remarkably good looking PC game.
So my top 5 picks (1920x1080 all settings turned up to maximum) so far are:
1) GTA IV with iCEnhancer (older game, but damn it's so pretty with this mod!!)
2) Skyrim maxed out with mods (skyrim hd and the post processing mods really makes this game look so much better)
3) Battlefield 3 maxed out (good job all around)
4) The Witcher 2 maxed out (beautiful vibrancy and colors in this game too)
5) Crysis with Realism mod (older but still a very visually stunning game)
What are your thoughts for the best graphics out there on a PC game to date?
PS. There may be some "issues" with these games such as the controls, physics or AI just not feeling right - but I'm just talking about strictly graphics here.
Which game are you most looking forward to in terms of graphics in 2012? For me it's GTA V, if it does come out this year. I'm pretty sure I would need to SLI 2 or 3 GTX590s in order to get decent framerate using a mod such as iCEnhancer on it though. It's a fantastic mod but damn is it ever a resource hog lol.
