I'm just hoping this helps stabilize my oc at lower qpi voltages redface.gif

I've been out of the loop on memory specs for a while.

These timings are terrible. I hope they are terrible because they're spec'ed for 1.5 volts.

With 1.65 volts, what kind of timings at 1600 are you looking at?

And +, it takes away the need for adding more RAM in the future if you want to.

Unless he's gonna run a RamDisk or possibly really intensive memory programs there is no need really for that extra 4GB. Even then, 12GB is more than enough.

Nice pick. wink.gif I'm pretty sure those timings can be slightly tightened and the sticks can be OC'ed to at least 1866.

hehe with my current 191 bclk i can set 1531 mhz or 17xx mhz (forgot the x) hopefully they can handle the 17xx.
main reason i got these is again, lower QPI/IMCvoltage, lower DRAM voltage, and thus lower temps and higher, more stable OC with tighter timings/ frequency. well see thumb.gif

hey guys got the ram in and it works fantastic
settings before were:
21x191 4009 ghz 1.318 vcore (in bios) LLC ON so 1.312 (in cpuz) qpi/imc voltage 1.356v
corsair xms3 1600 9-9-9-24-2t 1600mhz 1.65v running at 1531mhz 9-9-9-24-1t 1.65 dram voltage
settings now are:
i7 950 D0 21x191 4009 ghz 1.292 vcore (in bios) LLC ON so 1.288 (in cpuz) qpi/imc voltage 1.262v
g.skill ripjaws 9-9-9-24 1600mhz 1.5v running at 1531mhz 9-9-9-24-1t 1.5v dram voltage
temps are down ~3-4c on idle and ~4-5c on load. thumb.gif

Nice man.
thanks i never new how much of a difference ram could make in a good overclock.
currently have them running @ 1531mhz 8-8-8-21-1t 1.5v stable on prime blend and memtest+
might push for more later but im satisfied currently biggrin.gif
