So yeah i was planning to upgrade my girlfriend's rig for gaming.

I wanted to get her a phenom 955/965 BE and a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 to have an all black/red look, without spending too much.
Any other suggestion for good cpu/mobo combos? (around 300$)

do you have a microcenter near you? they have the best deals on cpu+mobo combos. you could get a 2500k with a decently nice motherboard from them within your budget

No microcenter near me.
I live in Montreal.
I work in retail so i will be getting the Intel retail edge deals when they come out. In about 4-5 months.
But i just felt like doing an AMD machine.
I am also not interested in getting a bulldozer build.
