3dMark06

Seems to not scale well with this. Maby I need to configure it properly to scale better. ohno-smiley.gif

Is the 560Ti 448 doing anything? You cant tri SLI it with the 470's. Need to sell off those 470's and pick up another 448. thumb.gif

I'm not clear on what the OP is saying, but I think he is saying he has one GTX470 and one GTX560ti  and has got them to work with SLI

GTX 560 ti 448 has faster ram and less low powered transistors. Core of the GTX 560 ti is faster GF110 GPU.
GTX 470 has slower ram and more higher powered transistors and uses an older GF100 GPU.

They are very close to being equal in performance but overall the GTX 560 ti 448 is faster and cooler.

Look at the screen shot. smile.gif It is 1 GTX 470 in SLI with 1 GTX 560 ti 448.

As far as SLI performance is concerned it is probably just like any GTX card in SLI. All about the particular game and drivers being used. Not all games work great in SLI. However the GTX 470 in SLI has a great reputation for scaling well and looking at the number 1 GTX 470x2 in SLI 3dMark11 score I am very close to matching or soon to beat it. So based on that the SLI performance is working well.

Highest HWbot score for 3dMark11 12255 marks with 2x GeForce GTX 470 at 910/1000MHz: http://hwbot.org/submission/2231250_veblen_3dmark11___performance_2x_geforce_gtx_470_12255_marks

My first attempt at 3dmark11 with my over clocked cards and system is P11,213

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2714697

I think I can beat the top dog GTX 470x2 SLI 3dMark11 score.

The GF110 is not faster than the GF100.
GF100 -> GF110 was simply an optimization fix cutting down power consumption in order to achieve lower TDP and allow for higher clocks and eventually the last batch of shaders to be unlocked (in terms of GTX 480 -> GTX 580).

In terms of these two cards, shader Count is identical (448 cuda cores each) and transistor count is also equal or at least close to equal (somewhere around 3 billion).
The reason why the 560 Ti 448 is faster is simply because its clocked higher than the 470. Downclock it to 607 MHz and performance will be equal.

AWESOME find though.
I always wondered if this was possible.
In order for SLI to work you need two identical GPUs.
Since GF110 has only undergone a few power saving optimizations, the GPUs are apparently similar enough to be considered identical and able to be SLI'd. This is really amazing.

By this theory, a combination of GTX 480 and GTX 570 might also work in SLI with huge luck.
However chances are lesser, because on a closer look, theres quite some differences between these cards. GTX 570 has lower ROP count, RAM and less memory bandwidth while the 560 Ti 448 and GTX 470 are literally identical apart from clocks.

Transistor count in GF100 is 3.2 Billion and 3 Billion in the GTX 560ti 448. For extreme over clocking I think the GTX 470 will go faster under liquid nitrogen but my findings so far is that my particular GTX 560 ti tops out around 975mhz core on air, stable for benchmarks while the GTX 470 is right around 900mhz on water stable for benchmarks. The ram on the GTX 560 ti 448 is faster so clock for clock the the GTX 470 will perform a little faster because of more transistors but the heat can kill the performance and when you over clock the GTX 560 ti 448 can perform better because it runs cooler and and faster over clockable ram.

I'm working on a water cooling solution for my MSI GTX 560 ti 448 Twin Frozr III PE/OC video card.

Not all different cards can SLI. There is a software procedure to see if 2 different NVIDIA cards will work in SLI.
