Clocking A8V deluxe + 3500 (2.2)

Thread Starter
Hi guys just wanted to know if anyone has managed to get a similar set up above 2.5 O/c without having to get all the important bits water cooled.

I have got mine upto 2.45 ish but only stayed stable for a day or too before reseting itself back to default settings in the bios.

Please dont ask for settings as this was done a couple of months or so ago and cant remember what they were now.
I know the memory was divided.

Just wanted some basic settings to go by.
Or is 2.5 too high for an old newcastle chip.

cheers guys

well what kind of air cooling are you running? I don't have a newcastle, but my venice 3500+ is running stable at 2.98 all day long, and has been for a while. I'm running it on an Asus a8n-sli.

The fan is a scythe (helicopter) very noisy when you have running at an average rpm, temps about 38 on tickover and 48 under load, this is when its overclocked too 2.3 ish.

I did wonder whether its the mobo holding things back more than the cpu, im going to test a few things this week once i get my new arctic freezer fan.
