Sorry but what? You are claiming to be able to afford an i7 3960X, but you are sticking with SLIG 560 Ti's? Are you crazy? You may aswell just save a heap load of money and get a 2500k/ 2600k/ 2700k and get a GTX 590 or wait for the next series of GPU's from nVidia.

Hey Bud, who is the Website building this PC?

And why not jump head first into building your own custom rig right now?

the processor is not ACTUALLY worth Getting, but, it is a bragging right and will certainly not need to be replaced for 5 years, Almost guaronteed.
Hell Im sitting very pretty with my now 3 year old? i think, i7 920. Doubt I will be needing to change the processor for another 3 years...

it really is a beautiful thing when You build a machine off a seriously well designed CPU and Platform where all you need to change every other year is the GPU =)

1: I suggest doign this your self, much more fun - The Supplied WaterCooling unit for your CPU from what i hear Sucks total Goats, I would heavily reccomend looking into a different cooling solution (unless I am mistaken about the cooler, a website recently did a big Cooler Roundup for socket 2011, and the Intel WC was lowest even though it is a Corsair h50 or something or other)
Some review out ther efor this.

2: that 3960x reaaaaly just isnt neccesary but if you have the cash to throw around then go for it, but the +100mhz and +3mb of cache makes little to no difference. for a $400 difference form the lower model

3: Graphics Cards,Either get the biggest card or SLI the biggest cards. personally, i will never SLI, My wife has SLI on her older machine but it didnt scale well and she always had driver issues. not to mention, the resolutions we run are Severely limiting the cards abilities. if your only running 1080 resolution on a TV or monitor, then SLI will be Nice with very high AA, but not all that neccesary.

4: if your shelling out all this money you need your Primary Drive to be SSD. Put teh 1TB Drive on the back end for data storage (I personally would 2 x 1TB in Raid 0, but thats just me) if you decide to Scale downt he processor and save $400 , then you can get a BIG SSD From Crucial or Intel. The Crucial M4's are Beast.

Good Luck my friend, and like i said, just build it yourself, No time like NOW!!

Really would suggest building it yourself, you'll save yourself a lot of money. Also, I would have recommended that you ask people on this forum to help you build a pc around your requirements. That SB-E processor isn't worth the extra money over an i7-2600k if you're gaming.
SLI set-ups can provide problems such as microstutter, so ideally, you'd want to start off with a GTX 570 or a 7950, with the option to SLI/CFX later.

If you don't know a lot about building computers (which is evident) don't be afraid to ask for help.

Thread Starter
Well since the GTX590 isn't far down the road, I didn't see the point in paying the price the 580's are right now compared to what I paid for an SLI'ed 560 ti. & from what I've checked the SLI 560 ti beats a single GTX580 by 20%.
As for the Processor I can still use that in the next PC, the video cards... With the upgrading they take every year or two, not so much.
So eventually I'll be putting a 590 in there a some point maybe even 2! smile.gif

You don't need that much ram, you will never need that large of a psu no matter what you do, you don't need that kind of processor for gaming.

My suggestions.

Trim the psu to 650w, or 750-850w psu if you are planning to use it in your next build and plan on SLI/crossfire. You shouldn't need more then that. And if you are going to use it in your next build, make sure to get a platinum grade psu, they are just starting to come out.

Trim the Ram to 8gb, you really don't need more than 4 for gaming, but RAM is so cheap now.

No reason at all to get that processor, get an i5 2500k, if you want to spend the extra money get the i7 2600k for the HT. Though gaming isn't inherently multi-threaded for the most part.

I would up the GPU though, if you want to spend the extra money get a 7970 or a 580.

As for the use of it, mainly gaming. I wanted a beast of a computer as you can see my last one was almost a Dinosaur.
It took me a while to choose what Video Card I wanted & I ended up getting those one since EVGA is pretty much top notch with NVidia & it's already overclocked. Should last a year or two I'd hope.
The thing finaly budged earlier now in Transit, Scheduled for Friday towards end of the Day, I'm still hoping it gets here tomorow... Too bad my week off is done tomorow night..

A fool and his money are easily parted.

GPU's are quick and easy to overclock. You've wasted a shed-load of money here, and everyone on this forum can see it.

An example of better for cheaper?

Corsair H80 to cool the CPU to overclock it to 4.5Ghz EASY.

You say "You don't see the point in paying the price..." yet you bought a SB-E processor?!
Have you even looked at what 7900-series GPUs AMD offer, they outperform the Nvidia cards with a lower TDP and lower price.

guys dont troll him so hard, make the reccomendations, give reasons for your reccomendations, and then walk off, dont fight witht he guy if he happy with his decision

But dude, Seriously consider what others have said - an i5 or i7 build is just as amazing, honestly it is, and you can take that money and put toward Nice SSD's and Backup Drive Configs,

The Config you have is All CPU, Some GPU, and Bottlenecked hardcore at the Hard Drive.

With a machine liek that You MUST Have an SSD or you are TRULY wasting money and Everyone time.
