[SOLVED] which graphics card to get?

Hi
So i am upgrading my rig and i want to get a decent graphics card for under $120 or so. So i was looking at a few in the forums and on ebay. But i have a few questions. Does the company that manufactures the card ie Asus, saphire, powercool, etc. Are there any brand that i want to avoid? Also is there a card you would recommend for this price point?

Thanks

There is going to be at least one person who tells you to avoid manufacturer X or always get manufacturer Y's products first. But they all make good video cards in my opinion, otherwise, why would they be in business?

Anyway, what card are you looking at?

I'm looking for a card as well for around the same price. The best card I can find for around 120 is a 6790. But for 20-30 dollars more It's an amazing upgrade to a 6850. I'm thinking about buying the HIS 6850. It's 140 bucks so i figured I'd try it out. Great reviews for it on everything I've read. Although everyone gets a bad card once in a while. No reason not to buy it. I'll get back to you with more info on it. Should be ordering it friday thumb.gif

All the brands are fine; most of the time its a reference design card with a different cooler. I would get a 6850($129.99) or a 460($139.99). Here's some benchmarks of these cards.

Another option is to check the for sale section on the marketplace if you don't mind buying used
