Going water cooling, need help!

Well, I'll be planning on water cooling here soon.. CPU and GPU. I've never done this before, so I need some suggestions.
I'd really like to run my card at 1GHz, I'm almost there, but VRM temperatures are holding me back.. So.
Here are my parts: I'm open to suggestions

XSPC Rasa 240mm Kit: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14182/ex-wat-181/XSPC_Rasa_750_RX240_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_RX240_Radiator_and_Free_Kill_Coil.html?tl=g30c321s1310

Extra 120mm Radiator: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14235/ex-rad-290/XSPC_RS120_120mm_Low_Profile_Radiator_Rev_2.html?tl=g30c95s159

HD 5970 Waterblock: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10050/ex-blc-701/EK_Radeon_HD_5970_VGA_Liquid_Cooling_Block_-_Acetal_Electroless_Nickel_Plated_EK-FC5970_-_AcetalEN_Nickel.html?tl=g30c309s1072

I've heard that the XSPC Rasa Kit tubing gets nasty after a while, and I'd like some color, so: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12802/ex-tub-834/PrimoChill_PrimoFlex_PRO_LRT_Tubing_716_ID_58_OD_with_332_Wall_-_10ft_Retail_Pack_-_UV_Red_PFLEXP10-758-R.html?tl=g30c99s809

More Barbs: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7612/ex-tub-315/Bitspower_Black_Sparkle_G14_Barb_Fitting_-_12_ID_BP-BSWP-C01.html?tl=g30c407s1030

And Fans: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7759/fan-471/Delta_120_x_25mm_Extreme_High-Speed_Fan_-_15033_CFM_FFB1212EH_Bare_Wire.html?tl=g36c15s60#blank

Yes, I will be getting a fan controller for those ^^

What do you think? Budget is about 300-450$. I'm very open to suggestions, I've never done this before.

Loop order is:

Res/Pump>240rad>CPU>120rad>GPU>res/pump

First I'd ditch those delta fans and find something much lower rpm close to the 1000s at least below 1600rpm, the RX series was meant for slow fans due to their low fpis, if you wanted to run deltas get a black ice xtreme/stealth series.

Any of these fans Noiseblocker, Noiseblocker, Yates, Gentle typhoons

Since you're cooling a 5970 and your cpu it maybe nice to include an extra 240 rad instead of a 120 (of course space limited) since you're aiming for a high overclock on your dual gpu. You'll be fine with any 240 rad they perform very close to each other but it'd be nice to get another RX to match the same noise profiles your rad from the kit has.

As for the tubing many have had issues with the newer primochill batches coming out the package you're buying may or may not come under the issue of having the walls coated in a film of plasticizer/substance, just a bit of warning there. Other than that everything else looks fine thumb.gif

Seconded.
RX rads are bulky but great, opt for the RX240 or bigger if space permits.

Yates are great since they are dirt cheap compared to GT's, got mine for $4 a pop.

I would recommend going with compression fittings, use the xspc ones if you are on a budget since they are a bit cheaper and does the same thing. Compressions look a lot nicer since you won't need crappy looking clamps, and if money is a concern you can always just buy just enough to put on your cpu and gpu blocks, and use the barbs from the kit on your res and rads since they are more hidden biggrin.gif

Phantom doesn't have space for 2 240mm radiators, and I DO NOT mod my cases. I'll see if I can find a thicker 120mm radiator, or a really thin one to go into the front.

I'll look into those fans.. Thanks!
