AMD 8120 temp issues.. - Page 2

LinX Pack = useless for bulldozer chips since it stresses the FPU of which there is only 1 per 2 cores.
Use Prime86, Or for quick stablity tests I run cinebench, Then Maxxmem then 3Dmark 11. Iv found that if those things pass prime is normally stable for 30min runs.
But you really want to run prime for 1-2 hours to be sure its stable once you settle on a overclock.

And to your post asking about thermal compound more doesnt = better. You want to have the minimum about you need to fill in the small gaps since direct contract metal on metal is better at transferring heat.

I have my computer under a load right now. Video, Team fortress, Streaming a vid from youtube and downloading a game. And I have yet to see the temps rise above 42c. But that is using CPUID's Hardware Monitor. I was using Gigabytes EasyTune6. Has anyone else had this problem with strange readings on easy tune?

Get a NEW COOLER.

Like i said in the Official BD thread, the N520 is not designed for high overclocks, ESPECIALLY on an FX. I own one, and it is terrible. No matter what paste you use, how many times you reseat it, it's not going to make a difference. It's barely better than stock.

Sorry man.

Not ; lookin to overclock this computer yet. I am not upset with the temps. They could be better tho. I see it idle at 16c now and never go above 48c under a load. But I'm gunna get a new cpu cooler anyway so I wont ever see them go that high. So yea. I was beginning to assume it was the cooler.

Hey guys was messin with my 8120 and earlier I said I get to about 51c max load temp but just noticed that is core temperature. I get to 70c cpu temp. I have an h100 with 4 sythe fans in push pull(135cfm a piece) and several intake fans and exhaust. I can not get more sufficient cooling unless I went full blown water setup but that's not gonna happen. I def have a high leakage chip and u could fry an egg on it, yikes

I'm using a n520 for my 1090t @ 3.8Ghz and my temps never get above 55c I did upgrade the stock fans to 2800rpm ones its a good cooler as long as you keep it clean.

yeah man thse fx chips are really hot. I cant keep the temps down with my NH-D14 Which is suppose to be one of the best coolers around.. At 4.38ghz. and 1.3125v, after a overnight prime my max core temps are 52 or so and my max cpu temps are at 72ish
