[Build Log] CaseLabs STH10 BOINC Cruncher 2012 - Page 20

Great build!

Do you think you could take a picture with the door on and the components inside?

I'm looking at purchasing either a STH10 or SMH10 but cannot decide which size door I want. I'm concerned that the XXL door may show to much of the hard drive bays and what not.

Anyways, Keep up the good work!

You could always tint the window (black) up to the point where you do not want things to be visible or you could get the window transparant to where components do not stand out to much.

Hi Pongo

Just to ask, have you drilled through the case to attach the EK res brackets? Trying to work out how to attach mine but can only think that drilling is the only option.

Many thanks.

I need to move the res a little bit away from the HDD cage. So, I am glad I have not drilled into the case yet. I have tried "regular" double-sided tape, but that didn't work. Now that you got me to think about it, I should try that really strong double-sided tape. I think it is the 3M #4010. If that doesn't work, that we will have to drill into this beautiful case.

Cheers,

That would be a shame. I am thinking about how to do it too.

My thread is at http://www.overclock.net/t/1284822/sth10-build-log-a-water-cooling-noobs-diary I'm brand new to water cooling, so any advice you can give along the way would be massively appreciated. I didn't order hard drive cages frown.gif I should have done that. Might have given me something to attach the res to.

Cheers,
Have you guys considered EK Uni holders ? They are brackets that allow you to mount reservoirs to odd places in your case. They would only require maybe a crad cage or some other place to at least get one bracket to mount. They are really flexible in their use. I used them in BitFenix Prodigy case build and they were able to make things work for me.

Hi Ronsa

Yes, they come with the EK res, but still need to mount them. What's a crad cage?

The STh10 came with a bunkch of flex bay device mounts - I wonder if they would work somehow?

Have you guys considered using an Attachment Plate?
Quote:
Attachment plate that can be used to mount various devices such as reservoirs. Typically used in conjunction with the vertical & horizontal accessory mounts (MAC-111/-112/152/154)

At least that way you are drilling into a replaceable plate and not the actual case. Not sure if this would work for either of you but it's an option. Looking great though! thumb.gif

Sorry I meant a card cage or flex bay fan mount cage.

Thanks, here is a photo of my STH10 with the XXL window:

700

I choose the XXL window because I wanted to see as much as I could of the MB chamber.
