I noticed that your top cover is not vented which would mean that you are pulling in air through one rad and recirculating the same air out through the next rad.
Am I correct? If I am, and if you are in fact circulating the same air through both rads I have to tell you that this is generally considered bad practice.
Essentially, the second rad is useless because it is using the warmed air of the first rad.
There are a few tests that were done to demonstrate this, one by Martin if I recall.
I'm surprised nobody else told you this. You might consider getting a vented top and having both rads pulling from the sides and exhausting inside and to the top. You will get more mileage out of your rads at slower fan speeds.
Cheers,
PepeLapiu

hold up before you bash someones build... it will decrease performance, (why you run the water through the warm rad before the colder one) but it is by no means useless... that said, i think you would benefit from having a vented top pannel, but to all their own smile.gif

I wasn't bashing his build.
Just advising .... sorry if that came out looking a bit offensive.

Anyway, which rads are you using? How thick are they?

I'm asking because I am configuring mine in a similar manner. Two 60mm Alphacool UT60 rads in push/pull and I wonder if they'll be too close to each other to comfortably exhaust to the top.

My two bottom rads will pull in from the bottom of the case and push out to each side. My two top ones will pull in from the sides and out the top. The top rads will slightly be crippled by using air that will be partially warmed by the bottom rads but there is really nothing I can do about that.

So how thick are your rads and how much space do you have between the two fans inside between the two rads?

Great build btw, you must have copied my ideas (kidding)

Cheers,
Pepe

You are correct, the top cover is not vented. Yes, I am pushing the air straight through one rad into another. I did not want a 90 degree turn in the airflow. Even though this build is complex and big, it is my first custom water cooled rig. It might not be the "perfect" configuration, but I have a measured Delta-T of 3-4 degrees. I am happy with that.

This build is almost "done". But that doesn't mean it will not change in the future.

I do plan on updating some photos once I finish the cable sewing (I am almost done with that.)

So, stay tuned for the photo update.

Cheers,

Subbed because this thing looks awesome! And I might do something like this during the summer if I can make enough money...

I've been learning more about how to use Sketchup. I did a mockup of the waterloop layout for my STH10 that I am waiting on. I found models of the BitsPower fittings on the net. These were very helpful.
This first pic shows the basic layout:
700
I do intend to use quick disconnect fittings where the tubes leave the motherboard tray and connect to the chassis. Just haven't drawn those yet.

This one shows the view in between the top rads:
700
The layout in the bottom is similar.

Any feedback on this proposed waterloop layout is welcomed.

Cheers,

Hi, i love your build! Would it be OK to share your sketchup file please as I'm thinking of doing something similar?
