How much room is there between the PSU and the fans/ radiators? Could you post a picture of the side view showing the clearance?

Is that case tippy? It looks sick, but I fee like it would get knocked over easily?

It's 42mm from the end of the AX1200 to the first 120mm fan in the 480 shallow mount. I will be installing a GTX360 rad there when it arrives on Monday. The second photo in post #45 shows this.

Once the two 560 rads in the bottom chamber get loaded with water it should lower the center of gravity. I'll let you know then.

Cheers,

Does the bottom pedestal area have an opening on the bottom (not the sides as you are going to be setting it up) for a 460 radiator as well?

This is just so sexy. redface.gif

Yes, there is a removable panel on the bottom. You can see this in photos 2 and 3 of post 26.

My radiators arrived. I flushed them using the two step procedure outlined by Martin here. I couldn't find the faucet adapter that he use, but I did find a garden hose to 1/2" barb adapter at McMaster. It is McMaster part number 70705T63. Here is a photo of them. It only comes in a package of two.

20120226_0001.jpg

I connected a length of 1/2" tubing to it and a radiator and flushed it with the tap water for a few minutes to get ride of any large particles. I then built the filtering rig that Martin referenced above from West Coast Mods and I ran distilled water through the rad and the filter for about 30 minutes.

I mounted both GTX360 rads in the top chamber with 120mm Yate Loon fans in push/pull. This left about 30mm between the end of the AX1200 PSU and the radiator as seen in the photo below:

20120228_0005.jpg

The configuration above is using two of the 480 "shallow" mounts (MAC-155S).  One set of fans are mounted outside each of the rad  mounts. This leaves about 220mm of space between the mounts for rads and fans. The GTX360 rads are 54mm thick. So, two of them plus two 25mm fans equals 158mm. That leaves about 62mm space between the inner fans.

Now on to the bottom chamber and the two GTX560 rads. I'll have photos hopefully tomorrow.

Cheers,

PM'd you where that photo is..

I assambled the fans onto the rads. Here is a photo of all four of them. The 360's in front look small compared to the 560's in the back.

20120229_0001.jpg
I installed the rad/fan assemblies into the case in a testing configuration. Those 8:1 fan headers are great for connecting a bunch fans together.

20120229_0020.jpg

Here is a front view of the bottom rad chamber. Again, those 8:1 fans heards are great. I know it looks like a mess, but I'm just testing things now. I intend to create custom wiring harnesses for the fans circuits and connect them to the fan controllers. I intend to install the second fan controller just above the bottom rads.

20120229_0021.jpg

Here is the top fan controller installed just below the top rads. One set of 6 fans is connected for a test.

20120229_0022.jpg

Now that I have the basics assembled and installed I will measure up a few more things in order to sort out the details of the fans wiring and the water loop using Sketchup. I got an order of sleeving stuff from MDPC on its way. It was shipped on 21-Feb and should be here soon. I have intensionally not ordered the MB, CPU, etc yet because that would add stress for me to finish the case and cooling systems. Once I finish the water cooling loop, I will order the MB and CPU. I can't find a i7-3930K in stock now anyway...

Cheers,
