Triple monitor does not always mean eyefinity. Perfect example my sorta glitchy 2win can do triple monitor but likes to crash when it does "Nvidia SLI Surround" (@Matthew, please make things simpler to say... wink.gif ) You can do triple monitor with USB to VGA adapters if you wanted, they just ya know aren't nearly as good as the modern day GPUs are.

I don't believe I truly understand your question but here goes:

I run 4 screens, soon to be 6. Right now, its 3 19" VGA's on the 460 2win, NOT surrounded, and 1 on the USB. I have the usb so A: I could run 4 screens biggrin.gif and B: So I can triple screen on my laptop when doing shortly organized productions (EG Laptop screen + Secondary + projector)

Now, when I want to, I can easily switch TO surround, it crashes once in a blue moon, which also never happens if Im not blasting music and running something else on the 4th screen.

Savvy?

This has been brought up alot, and there can be a number of reasons. No one would argue a 2x3GB cards aren't better for surround, assuming you have the funds for it, 2 slots, and an SI ready motherboard. There is also a huge advantage with surround, especially in FPS. In BF3 you can be zoomed in with a sniper rifle and still see more on your peripheral monitors than some do with a single screen just running around. So lets say I am on a budget, love FPS, but don't care as much about the eye candy as the game play. Pop in a dual GPU card with 1GB Vram, run it at medium, and have a distinct advantage over your opponents. The truth is there are so many cards, configurations, and desired outcomes that companies offer a variety of solutions. I recommend to start by knowing what you want to accomplish, what hardware can do it, and get opinions of others with similar desires. As they say to each his own.

Maybe I am misunderstaning something here. But doesn't surround mean all three screens connected as one?

If that is the case I have no intentions of having all 3 as one solid screen.

Hey Matt,

You work for Evga correct?

Then here is my dilema or intended use. Left: Screen 1 Middle: screen 2 Right: Screen 3

Screen 1 will (or might not be used at all) be used to browse internet or watch (listen) to a recorded show from the directv dvr
Screen 2 will be what I will be gaming on.
Screen 3 will have a wiki page open to help me get through different quest (i know this takes the fun out of the game but it is how i like to play.)

If you do work for EVGA and know about this card will it do these for me.

Again my budget is about $450 not including the instore credit. And agian I can't SLI even though my board allows it. I can't give up any other perifial cards.

In case I did not update my specs my Mobo is Asus Crosshair 5 formula and 16 gigs of Patriot Viper Extreme. Everything else is the same. I only added this specs because I think it will allow me to multitask with no issues.

EVGA has the 560ti 2win - $519.99 and 460 2win - $359.99 which are the only cards that can have up to 3 monitors, besides an AMD card which EVGA does not carry frown.gif.

I'm the assistant product manager, so yes I work for EVGA. The 2win card will allow you up to 4 independent monitors: IE 1 for wiki, 1 for youtube, 1 for a game, and 1 for a movie at the same time - which sounds like what you are looking for. OR you can use it to span 1 game across 3 monitors (called surround gaming). This is essentially turning 3 monitors into one very wide monitor.

EVGA also carries a 580 580 3gb and a 590 all of which would do this. I still maintain that 2wins are good cards, (Nvidia just needs to bugger off and let me quad them)

Wait does newegg have the 460 2win page wrong? it says " feast your eyes by combining up to three displays".
