Lol, after reading thru this thread I had to laugh. I love it when people who have the card hes after try to push OP to buying it.
I understand your trying to back up your purchase, but don't flame other cards.
A 6970 would've been the way to go (not saying a 570 is a bad card..), but you can usually find them cheaper than 570's. Games utilize more VRAM now days even @ 1080p. 2 "6950's" scale better than 3 570's in some games. Imagine having 2 6970's
Power draw is in favor of the 6970's & so is better temps under load.
They have a higher OC potential because 570's tend to blow VRM's if overclocked.
I mean if you want Physx (which everyone knows is dead), you fold, or want better tesselation.. then a 570 is the way to go.
If you like to overclock, want better frames, less power draw, better temps, more VRAM, better scaling then.. a 6970 is the better choice.
I had to go thru this decision a little ways back & i'm pretty sure you guys know the choice I made.
Also if you want to SLI in the future, you might wanna think about getting a new PSU. Showing on Anand that they pull 450w under full load. My whole rig with Prime & Furmark running pulls 675w w/ 2 6970's.
Anyways gratz on your purchase OP & good luck Edited by WizrdSleevz - 2/11/12 at 11:19pm
