here are some numbers.

Dual E-2687W:
ECC RAM 1600MHz/CL11
system is not optimized for folding (too much RAM, PSU has lower efficiency), ca 500 watt
if better "tuned" for folding, I'd guess a bit less than 450 watt power consumption

recent work units:
P8101: TPF=14min 46sec, 306k ppd
P8103: TPF=12min 02sec, 416k ppd
P8104: TPF=9min 24sec, 398k ppd
P8105: TPF=12min 05sec, 404k ppd

Dual E5-2650:
ECC RAM 1600MHz/CL11
250 watt on the wall

P8101: TPF=21m12s, 178k ppd
P8103: TPF=17m00s, 248k ppd
P8104: TPF=12m52s, 249k ppd
P8105: TPF=17m02s, 241k ppd

rgds,
Andy

Those are some pretty nice numbers on the E5-2687W build, what speed are those running at?

BCLCK = 104 MHz vs. 100 MHz
That is the max setting possible with the Asus mobo.

Don't have a Supermicro board from the Hyperspeed series, this is supposed to maintain a stable 106 BCLK and 1866MHz memory speed.

Nice, so that'd be around 3.54Ghz when using 8 cores?  I'm using a couple ES E5 chips, but the max multi I can get is 31, so I'm only 3.22ghz, with 104 BCLK as well.

I've been recruited to clean-up and organize this wonderful treasure-trove of knowledge! thumb.gif

I'll be consolidating recommendations, updating parts picks, configurations details, as well as eventually posting a step-by-step ubuntu client install.

I would like to gather some information from fellow bigadv folders, please PM me your setup!

I'd like to get as much info on:
1) What 2p/4p hardware are you running? PPD? Power Draw?
2) What client are you running? sticking with v6? trying out v7?
3) Any special issues/recommendations that should be included?

Thanks ya'll very much! Especially to derickwm for originally starting and maintaining this thread! Let's continue to strengthen our folding-base and make our folding community even better!
