C'mon, it's clock for clock slower than Phenom I and the Fusion APUs (talking Llano here, though wouldn't doubt it a bit if Bobcat could beat it, too). It requires boatloads of energy to power it to a clock speed where performance can be classified as "decent" and doesn't at all compete with the competition (including AMDs former flagships..) except on highly multithreaded loads. Even with high multi-threaded tests it has it's moments of epic fail, see Cinebench results for example.
It IS bad in and of itself. It's not just bad when compared to Nehalem or Sandy bridge. It's bad when compared to Thuban, it's bad when compared to Deneb. It's not even "good" compared to Agena.
Combine this with the fact that it costs more than both the competition and the same company's previous offerings, it's dismal.
