Mechanical HDD AHCI or IDE? - Page 2

Alright thanks guys!
NOTE: going from a 520mb/s read SSD to a mechanical HDD for your OS sucks! also my WD caviar black 1TB makes a "clicking" noise for some reason, I'm guessing its something to do with the read head making noise on the disc, pretty annoying. I will have to just live with that huh?

Clicking or rumbling? If it's rumbling, that's the normal [annoying] seek noise.

But if it's making a distinct click in constant / semi constant intervals, back up your data, your drive *might* be dying on you. :\
