[Smartoffice] What Will Make Sony's PS4 Different To Microsoft's Xbox 720 - Page 2

Eh...everybody wigged out with the PS3 "boomerang" controller prototype, and Sony still stuck with the tried and true design they've been rocking for years.

If this has any truth to this console and PC gaming are going to go in separate directions. Consoles getting more of the inaccurate motion and touch controls while PC stays with tried and tested mouse and keyboard. If noting else it will cut down on the amount of console ports rolleyes.gif

Any news on weather the new xbox will have a bluray player or not? rolleyes.gif

If not, I see no need for one, since I use my PS3 more as a media center than a console.

Kinect is an evolution of the Wii mote... PS Move on the other hand is more of a copy, but more advance.

Industry leaders have been predicting a device like Kinect to push UI forward for years. I'm glad Microsoft brought it mainstream and not a company like Apple.

Kinect 2.0 will be able to read sign and muscle tones.

Oh yes Sir.

DualShock has the sticks placed way too far down.

Original XBOX controller was WAY too big and WAY too heavy. X360 controller has painful edges in the joint between the grips and the controller body.

The NGC controller was perfect in many aspects. Long travel triggers, stiff and grippy analog sticks, ergonomic button placement, and perfect sized grips. My only complaint? The placement of the + pad. Too far down. But it was always relegated as secondary, so not too big of an issue.

I'm thinking of picking a Joybox just to use them on my PC.

Maybe they can use the tablet interface for on-screen keyboard for MMO type of games. Plus get rid of the modern shooter 2-weapon limit of this era's console games.

backward compatibility

if i buy a new system its because my old one doesn't work. having FULL backward compatibility(ps1,ps2 and ps3/x-box and 360) builds a little something i like to call brand loyalty, if i cany play the games i have now im not going to shell out $200-$500 on a new console just for a few games, with the ps3 i still have a modest 20 game library and i can still play them on my 60gb(have to send the big girl to get fixed though and im going to make damn sure i can get her back and not some skinny little thing)
