3770k brings a 10% avg increase in performance vs 2700k, if FX can bring 15% higher IPC and much higher overclockability (5 ghz on air 5.4 on water) id be impressed. thumb.gif AMD would have a chance!

I thought I read somewhere that AMD said 2nd gen Vishera most likely will have a 10-15% increase in performance, but I can't find it *FFFFUUU*
If that rumor is true then I think AMD is going to have a good chance competing with Intel. You sir did an awesome job with those benches btw, must of taken a really long time:p

Well at $239, you wouldn't be wasting your money on this CPU...

Needlesstosay though, Trinity will bring us the 2nd Generation, and to be fair the i7-2600k is the second Generation of the core i series...

All that aside though, when the software & OS gets the code it needs to use the CPU optimally, including the instruction sets, BOOM!

Then we will be throwing down the gloves and seeing the real clear picture...
(Remember how long it took for 64 Bit to hit Windows?)

FAT REP @ U MATE, love your work.... Tier 1 Quality, for sure..

P.S. If that's your girlfriend (the avatar), she can drop a package off at my house anytime... biggrin.gif

I've been playing around with my FX-4100 vs my Phenom II 955 and I really don't see any difference.

It does run cooler compared to my old C2 955. I got the FX-4100 for $33 so It was worth it.
