intel burn test brings some serious heat to my chip. reaching mid 70s. With regular use with gaming and any cpu benchmark, no higher than 60c for cpu, and 70c for gpu.

Are you not getting any throttling? No matter what BIOS settings I set, before I added my second radiator if my CPU die broke 68-69C it would auto-throttle for a split second just to cool things down. really hard to notice unless your watching a CPU core load meter. I'm curious if it's a CPU thing or maybe a ASUS Sabertooth thing. If you are hitting an auto-throttle it could be affecting some of those numbers.

All these talk about how awesome the FX-8150/8120s are I am so tempted to swap my 955-C3 for one lol, but I really don't want to spend the $$ then in 6 months buy another one. and I don't think my 600W power supply will feed my whole rig if I swap for a OCed FX series CPU

i wouldn't do it on a 600w. 700w at the minimum personally.

That's what I thought smile.gif So it will turn out to be a PSU + CPU upgrade so it will turn out to be like $450 upgrade, but boy...it sure sounds tempting to get a taste of 8-core multi-tasking performance biggrin.gif

Unless your doing a lot of multi-threaded apps it isn't worth it. My 955 was a C2 that hits 58c on stock settings with no overclocking headroom and still at stock settings my 955 was a lot faster than my 4100. I had to get my FX chip up to the 4.5GHz range just to make my PC feel "normal". If I had to pay for my chip id wait for the revision.

Next gen bulldozer will be 3rd generation bulldozer core, so it will be 20-30% better ipc, putting it equivilent to Phenom II IPC, but with clocks over 5 ghz and better scaling than current FX 8150 offerings.

With:

Geil Evo Two DDR3 - 2400 Mhz (2x4Gb)
(10-11-11-30)

--or --

Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 - 2133 Mhz (2x4Gb)
(9-11-10-27)

I am learning for simply the better ram, their prices are near identical.

By I am leaning more towards the Geil (I have had really bad history with Corsair except for their PSU's, that is three individual cases of faulty ssd / ddr3 ram)

Help me choose which ram I should get! I would love to get your guys' opinion on this! ^^

Also, I will be redoing my benchmarks with Windows 8 Consumer Preview!

Stay tuned for this Upgrade. and Results! Thanks for all the support and everybody's patience! ^^
