is a flag/option available for all clients you can fold on your PC. Adding this option on you SMP slot won't give you the OpenCL WUs intended for Radeons, it will get you advanced (newly released WUs) intended for SMP processing. Depending on CPU/GPU you may or may not want to enable this option.
So which ones do I want it enabled on?
I7-3930k - I'd say yes
Core2quad-Q8400 - I wouldn't bother
Phenom II-955 black - Probably this
HD 6850 - Deffinitly
GTX 460 - Yep
GTX 570 - Oh, yea!
Someone that has better experience with Intels with HT might say not to use the advanced on the 3930k.2)
I'm not sure the C2Q would be fast enough to make the advanced worthwhile.3)
My PHII shows 5-20% increase on the 6098/6099, which are A3 advanced ones, compared to other WUs. Running V7 will probably get you A4 WUs, and of those I've got no experience with.4)
Radeon (5xxx and later) needs the advanced WUs to fold relatively well, only available through V7. Whichever computer this is located in, lower its SMP count by one (or two). I.e. if this is in one of the quads, run -smp 3 (or set CPUs to 3 in V7 config if you run the SMP in V7 as well).5)
GTX460 on advanced WUs will use less CPU, meaning more SMP PPD which you want.6)
GTX570 on the other hand... will also use less CPU but in addition to that, a boost of ~1k PPD on it.
e- Too slow typing all that...Edited by arvidab - 2/18/12 at 8:09am
