This is one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard on OCN.

Intel vs Amd = some people have preference but both work just fine.

People recommend the m4 because it didn't have 6 months of being completely unreliable as a boot drive.

It's not just because of performance, but price as well. If the Samsung 830 and the Intel 510 were the same price as the M4, I'd be totally comfortable picking randomly.

The M4 just blows every other option out of the water because of the price.

Google search tells me that the only people that have had any issues are the ones that bought the drive before the 2.15 firmware came out. I'm having trouble finding anyone in the last 3 months that has had a BSOD directly attributable to the SSD. Mine came with 2.15 and is completely problem free, so that tells me that the issue was either a bad batch or something is wrong with OCZ Toolbox.
My personal opinion is that they got a bad batch, which given their history selling ram happens quite frequently. Their problems pinpointing the issue stems from the fact that it probably wasn't firmware related and that there really wasn't a software fix, and that they released the "2.15" firmware when the QC problem at Sandforce was corrected just to shut people up.
In the end its all you can really expect from OCZ. Half of the products they release have major QC issues. I ordered my Vertex 3 fully expecting to have to RMA it, but instead I was pleasantly surprised. Its faster and cheaper than the M4

Google "ocz 2.15 bsod" and use ocz technology forum for answers.

Plenty of unresolved issues. And as I already pointed out, anandtech can bsod two Sandforce drives reliably. Yet, the Intel 520 with firmware adjusted by Intel/Sandforce doesn't do it.

That alone is proof that Sandforce's firmware still has problems. We can only hope that Intel lets them release yet another fix.
