Thread Starter
please help i dunno whats gone wrong, i have just got a z68 mobo and a 2700k cpu with a corsair tx 850 to power it. i have fitted this all into a coolermasters haf 912. i think i have plugged it all in right but when i tried to turn it on nothing happens. i am new to pc builds but i thought i could atleast do this

Remove everything out of the case and set it up on the motherboard box, if the computer turns on outside of the case something was most likely plugged in wrong or the case had some sort of metal touching the motherboard.

Few questions.

Do you get any fans or lights?
Are all the plugs seated?
is the ram Seated?
Are you using a vid card?
Could you list the components?

i doubt he knows how to turn on the computer outside of the case.

it sounds like maybe you plug something wrong....the pins from the case ... or you miss plugged something.

May sound silly. but did you plug in the HAF 912 power/reset switchs to the motherboard.
dbl check your front panel connections...perhaps try JUST plugging in the power switch...a picture might help to diagnose if something is really out of wack.

the components are a z68 motherboard by gigabyte with a 2700k and a h80 watercooler and a corsair tx850 and a nvidia gtx 560 ti twin frozr. all the plugs are seated the ram is seated. I can probably set it up on my desk just wouldnt be sure how to put the mobo i guess on the box as skyline suggested. when i was plugging everything in there was one plug i wasnt sure about its a 4 pin and above to the left of the cpu and says 12 v on it the only cable from my power supply that would fit was the 6 pin pcie but i was unsure.

from that it sounds like your CPU power isn't plugged in. that is the female adapter above and to the left of the CPU.

Did you use motherboard standoffs? If not, you're shorting.
