My Waterfox 10 is freezing up so much I may have to put using it on hold

I'm running Win7 on a Toshiba Sat., everything about my machine is working correctly, but for some reason, sometimes Waterfox freezes, gives me the greyed out screen, and will be labeled as (not responding) and this will go on forever, and closing it out with Ctr-Alt-Del doesn't fix it, I even uninstalled Firefox and Waterfox, and reinstalled only waterfox, to no avail. I can't seem to figure this out, but a friend of mine says he's having the same exact problem with Firefox, only since the last update. Is this happening to anyone else? Is it just an update, and if so, is anything being done to correct it, or should I start trying to use Chrome? I use add-ons that only work with Fire/Water Fox, so I would REALLY like to resolve this problem and continue to use this program, because it was excellent, when working.

By the way, this happens about 4 times a day, without fail, which is why I really want to get it fixed, as I work on the internet, and it's screwing with my money flow.

Firefox has been messing up on me lately too... I am just riding it out. Hopefully, it will get fixed. I will probably go to Opera if the problems continue.

Both of you, try cleaning up your Firefox profiles.  Use the methods outlined in the link "Optimizing Firefox" in my sig.

I use Waterfox 10 with over 100 addons (86 addon + 33 stylish script) with no issue nor have I noticed any speed penalty vs having no addons (if any speed penalty it is made up for by functionality improvements that improve speed/efficiency)

I just had the same problem. Screen greyed - Waterfox froze - closed program using task manager - did not close down Waterfox - tried disabling the running program in task manager - still could not close it down so I could restart Waterfox - Windows 7 would not close down. Had to use the reset button.
I will have a look at the 'Optimizing Firefox' thread as suggested.

A guru mate of mine has tested Waterfox against Firefox running on Win 7 64bit and found that there was little difference in page loading times on a range of complex web pages. I also had a problem with an episode on Australian Broadcasting Commissions (ABC) iview freezing. Had to go back a page and refresh to get it to start again

I am eager to try the methods you mention for cleaning up my firefox profile. (I am running win7 and Waterfox 13.0 has been freezing regularly for the last day or two.)

However I haven't been able to find them in your sig... or by clicking on your username. I'm not familiar with overclock.net (just joined in order to be able to ask this question) so if you could give me a pointer to the information, it would be much appreciated!
