I think the guy was just trying to get me to buy a console or something. I dont know I ended up going to a different gamestop the day after this happened & got treated like a complete idiot. I was looking for Vita items and the guy was giving me nothing but an attitude. All I did was ask him what the price was on a hard case cause it was not marked. i ended up walking out. This is why I rarely ever buy at gamestop anymore. Went to bestbuy and got my stuff instead

I do agree tho PC gaming even tho hardware does cost a bit at first is a cheaper, better solution. Look at all the Steam, Amazon, GreenManGaming sales that are always going on. Games that are 65.00 at gamestop with tax are selling on PC sometimes for $20.00 or even less. That right there with the games as cheap as they are on PC makes it well worth it.

I bought my Skyrim for $35.00 & BF3 limited Edition for $39.99. Both of those games on consoles are 65.00 with tax each which is $130.00 & I paid $75.00

To OP:

Let's not forget the BOSS KEY! I work 24 hour shifts, and all my coworkers will bring in their consoles. Sometimes we'll break the rules a bit and plug them in earlier than we're supposed to, if you're caught, lookout! But not this guy...yeah I bring in the desktop, full size tower to work. Keep a monitor and keyboard/mouse/headphones setup in my locker. I have that thing setup, gaming away, I see the boss, ALT/TAB into work related material, yeeeeeeeeah boy. Cause my machine is for production, not for those silly, silly games. thumb.gif

Our stores in New Zealand are great. When you want a game, you just grab it, and the check out guy or girl just scans and says thanks, no attitude or anything. If you ask where something is, they take you to it no questions asked. Of coarse, I buy most of my games off Steam. And sometimes from Trade me, so you pay and the game gets delivered to my door step (and i'm on a farm and i get it usually the next day!)

Gotta love NZ!

American companies seem to think the more they make their employee's interact with the customers, the customers will want to buy more.
Sadly they are Horribly mistaken on that.

Yea, In the state's going to get electronics can be a pain in the butt. Every time I go the Micro center or what ever for a specific item that I have done TONS of research for and know exactly what I'm getting and they will try to sell me something different. Not to mention it is rare in America to come across a electronics store where the employee's actually know what they are talking about. Most will misrepresent items. I have always found the people at the mom and pop shops to be more knowledgeable and easier to work with here in the good ol USA.

Unlike the OP, I've already started on building my gaming rig, and look forward to getting into PC gaming. But with all this talk about PC gaming versus consoles, is there a healthy medium between the two? For example, since I have no PC until I finish my rig, I'm pretty much stuck using my PS3 until I finish the build this summer (or sooner). I kind of like the controllers on game consoles, mostly because it fits in my hands and doesn't hurt... Well, not for the first three hours at least wink.gif... My question is: Are there adaptors or programs (or however you want to describe it) on PC's whereby the user can plug in say - a PS3 controller, and use it to play PS3 games? I know there are all sorts of additional PC accessories such as steering wheels and pedals, joysticks, fighter plane controllers, and even arcade style controllers for specific types of games, but I was wondering if such a thing exists to experience PC gaming using a console controller or the games featured on both PC and console...Or am I so out of touch with today's technology and feud between PC Gamers and Console Gamers that this kind of half-way concept is frowned upon? redface.gif

Also, some of you Gamers mentioned that PC games are visually better than console games but often share the same titles... With that said, can console games be used on a PC. And if so, are the graphics converted upwards? Obviously there's some programming differences between the two formats, but if they're both on a blu-ray disc, wouldn't the resolution be slightly similar? I'm sure once my rig is complete I'll be all for PC gaming 100%, and you probably won't be hearing me ask any more noob questions like this from then on out. But when the transition between the two formats happens, I was just wondering if both hardware and software technologies can be utilized at once. Or in this case, one used with the other.

Instead of repeating what everyone else has said these past seven pages, i'm just going to say...

The best thing for modern console gaming:

The Wii is the only decent one of the modern consoles yet it's game library sucks and the sensor crap is just gimmicky -- not really worth it. IMO console gaming is only for the older generation: Snes, Nes, Genesis, N64, that kinda stuff.

I also think the PC community is better than the console one, but that could quite easily change.

no it can't. Consumers don't want to pay big bucks for a console which will out do a pc. The whole idea of console is cheap gaming but yet in 7-10 years you spend more than you would on a pc. but people don't see it like that.

Simple question to whether or not you're in school / uni? are you?

if yes then stay on which ever platform they are on, it will make gaming boring for you, hence why I haven't touched my pc in months. sad but true.

Even though it may be fun for a while and better than console in every way, trust me without your friends playing on it and I don't mean oh you might find some on steam etc the ones you see everyday you will get bored really fast.
