MMORPG's worth playing? - Page 3

I just watched this review of Star Wars: The Old Republic

I'm tempted to try it out, but I absolutely LOATHE Companions! I hate having multiple people to "manage", I'd rather die all the time on my own, than have some annoying so called "Companion" follow me... Can anyone clarify that you can choose not to have a companion? This is an important aspect of this game for me, I won't even look at it if it requires you to engage in combat with a Companion.

Edit: Can't get the link to work on OCN, it has w t f in the link, so I can't post it. Replace the three stars with <<<<

worth every single buck you will spend on it. it is that good. WoW is dieing, SW:TOR is rising.

you can simply send back your companion to your ship and try to solo. also in most cases (raids etc) you are not allowed to have companion with you (party size cap)

You can fight without a companion, but if you're soloing then get used to dying a lot. And you don't really have to "manage" them. The most you have to do is upgrade their gear whenever you find new stuff or receive a companion specific equipment from a quest. Other than that they just follow you around and help you out.

I hate stuff following me around helping me out. Guess it's a miss for me then! It literally is a deal breaker for me! I know it seems pathetic... But I can't stand them that much.

FGFxGamers, yes and yes. However you have to set your payment system or buy prepaid card to use that one free month -_-.

Roxborough those companions are quite clever. You should atleast give a try for this game. It's very good.

Then just never play solo. Grab a buddy and play with him. Otherwise you'll have to grind nonstop just to become powerful enough to survive story class missions solo.

Heck if you focus on leveling and avoid quests you could get to 99 in a couple days. From there the game will be completely open to you. It was my first MMO and I highly recommend it to anyone.

FFXI still has the best grouping system of any MMO I've played. Haven't looked at it in a few years. Is it really that much different now? I miss my Monk/Warrior smile.gif

Completely different my friend. Google "Abyssea" and you'll see just how crazy it is now. MNK/WAR is now the most powerful job in the game. They've implemented countless changes and the game is thriving like the good ol' days. I temporarily cancelled my sub so I could focus on SWTOR so I can't give you any good screenshots, but here's a crappy phone pic I took of my Paladin testing out my endgame weaponskill.
