Best PC Games ever made? - Page 12

Sadly most games suck these days, even PC games. But nevertheless, some PC exclusives stand out as being my favorites.

- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- Penumbra: Overture and Black Plague (neither one is complete without the other)

Some close runner ups include:

- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky (although this is the worst one)
- ArmA 2 and the expansions - the only really good military-themed shooters I've found. Red Orchestra has good gameplay, but is only a PvP game.

For me...I'd say...

Doom II
Sam and Max Hit the Road (Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, the Indiana Jones series, etc)
Delta Force (my first lan party /cry)
HL 1...and later 2
Diablo 1...and later 2
Starcraft 1...eff 2
All Warcraft games except 3...because it was bad
Worms (whichever one it was that started it)
Baldur's Gate series
Quake
Unreal Tournament
Civ 2+
Sim City
GTA 1+2 (left the series until 4, which was also amazing)
League of Legends
Team Fortress 2
Dragon Age: Origins (not 2)
Bioshock (not 2)
Minesweeper
Mindthump (look it up if you have something that can run Mac OS 9)
And my all-time personal favorites...Portal 1 and 2. Hands down. No argument.

...I'm forgetting some. Damn it.

Thanks Geritol!

Tribes 1. Best and most active community. Most competition.

It ruined gaming for me, since nothing interests me after the epic days of Tribes1

Glad I found this thread; been gaming forever and I'm just bottom-feeding now, looking for something new and I kept reading these "Top 100 games of all time" BS here and there; you guys bring some interesting titles to the table. I'm gonna list my fave games and ask a question; based on these games that I like (obviously RTS, especially historical like castle age era, but also CnC, and also FPS, esp. WWII):
C&C: Red Alert
Age of Empires II
Lords of the Realm
WOULD love the Total War series if not for the turn-based component (I don't do turn-based, even with rts battles)
Half-Life 2
Medal of Honor, all expansions
Call of Duty, up to 2 (highest I can play on my POS laptop)
Company of Heroes
Roller Coaster Tycoon, all versions
(I have a tone of others I like, but these make the top of my list)

Thanks again for putting up such a great list to dig through for gaming ideas and thanks in advance to anybody that can answer my question. thumb.gif
