Batman Arkham Asylum sound stuttering/crackling

Thread Starter
I have Arkham Asylum GOTY edition on Steam, and for some reason during gameplay the sound will sort of crackle/stutter. Cutscenes are fine, its just during actual gameplay the problem occurs. Im running Windows 7 x64, and my soundcard is built into my motherboard.

If anyone knows what I can do to fix this it'd be really appreciated. Google has bought me zero results.

I'm not saying this is the solution, but I know when I was trying to run the DX11 tesselation and effects in Arkham City, the sound was all crackly and what not. After I turned them off, the sound was very nice and things went back to normal.

So perhaps the graphics settings are too high in Asylum? I know they don't have the DX 11 stuff in that game, but who knows. Just spitballing here hahah
