The steelseries stuff is good, a lot of people like the qck. I have a G700, which uses the same sensor as the G9x. I use a razer goliathus control, which is a black cloth pad with a razer design on it. I don't have any issues with it, and it's usually the cloth pads that mice are picky with. I'd say you can choose pretty much pad you like and the mouse won't have any problems.

Hard pads usually have a more fluid motion and they are faster, while cloth pads usually give you a little more precision because they don't slip around as much. A lot of people say cloth pads are more comfortable for your wrist/hand. It really depends on your style, and from what I've read/experienced the G9x is not very picky, especially compared to mice with the PTE sensor.

Mionix Propus 380rolleyes.gif

I use it. It's large, but you gonna find something better in quality or price? It's perfect. Also great for the Spawn.

Black hardpad is better for that laser. I had a G9x and Qck and its liftoff distance was horrible that it would sporadically make my cursor move around everytime I slightly lifted it up.

I don't have much of an issue with my g700. Theres a little bit of a jump, but it pretty minimal. Nothing even close to what my r.a.t. was like.

How good is the steelseries 4HD?

I used to use a QCK, but switched to the 4HD due to hearing about acceleration problems with the ADNS 9500. Switching to the 4HD was a huge difference, the tracking was better and the motion felt more fluid

Pads I have used which don't work well with the g9x: Megasoma, Alioth 400, HEIN kai.g3, Puretrak Talent, QcK Tyloo, Roccat Taito, Mantis Speed, Goliathus Speed

Pad which I use now which works perfectly with the g9x: Artisan Shiden xsoft white.
