Is my GTX 275 dying?

So a couple of days ago, my monitor started to have a blue strip in the middle of the screen for few seconds, then went away. Then two days ago, while on Youtube my screen kept turning off every 30 seconds, I had to move my mouse for the screen to come back. And now, the screen went completely off, and I had to remove my DVI cable and put it into the second one. A couple of seconds later, my monitor turned off again. I am thinking its my graphic card going down the drain. I got this card from my cousin, who had it heavily overclocked for 4-5 months, then when he gave it to me, I have been running stock since the day I got it, will be the second year this April. The card is not overheating, I have enough power for the graphic card. Any ideas? I cannot RMA since I have removed the cooler to replace the thermal compound, and Sparkle does not support it. Plus, I think the warranty is over.

Here is the card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187073

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a different card to troubleshoot with? More information is needed to troubleshoot your problem.

My previous monitor did similar things and I thought it was the card. ..

What temperature does the card run? Do you have another monitor to test with? Sounds like the card maybe overheating or the monitor is going out. Could be a PSU issue but that wouldn't be the first avenue I explored.

Could be the monitor giving out actually. I've only ever had one monitor give out on me but it did strange things on its way out. I had grey bars on the screen, it would start to turn on then go to grey bars, get progressively brighter then go to black, it loved distorting colors in youtube videos...it was all over the place.

The fact that you could move the monitor over to another port and it came back up for a bit makes me suspect it rather than the card, because if the card stopped outputting video it wouldn't be putting out a picture on any ports. If you have another monitor to test it on I highly recommend it. If it turns out it's not the monitor, then there's a very high probability it's the card. Unfortunately, no matter how you look at it something's on its way out. Ready your wallet frown.gif

Both of the times, the graphic card was not overheating, pretty cool actually for how hot it can get. It was at 40-45, and these cards are rated for 100C. I don't think it could be the power supply, since the system doesn't actually turn off. Everything is running, even the fan on the graphic card. When the event happened, the monitor was on because as soon as I plugged my DVI cable to the second port, the monitor came on for a second then went black again. This wouldn't have happened if the monitor was off, or that's what I think.

I do have a second monitor, and I will try it out. I have been looking for an excuse for a while now to upgrade my graphic card. This might be it!
