Help with underperforming RAID 0 SSDs please!

Hi, thank you for reading my topic.

I currently have a Vertex 3 & Agility 3 in RAID 0 on the Intel controller on my motherboard. I did not really think there was much of a problem, til I was reading a review of the OZC 'Octane' SSD and had a look at the benchmarks in comparison to mine.

From 3 different benchmarks (ATTO, AS SSD & CDM 3) a single SATA III SSD beats my RAID 0 in 2/3 benchmarks - sreenshots as follows:

511
615
378

The ATTO benchmark shows more like what I would have expected from the array, whilst the others are outperformed by a single SATA III SSD mad.gif ...is this supposed to be like this or have I done something wrong?

Cheers, Chris

how long have you had these?

since there is no TRIM in RAID, make sure to let it run garbage collection.

Garbage collection works when the drives/system is idle (set win7 performance to high then in advanced set hdd to never power down/never sleep, log off overnight twice a week) ) to clean deleted pages/rearrange data somewhat etc. to keep performance up.

Stripe is 128kb....as for how long I've had them, I bought the Vertex 3 as soon as they were available in Australia which would be approximately 10 months ago, and I picked up the Agility 3 maybe 4 months ago which is when I would have set up the array....
