New PC Build Advice

Thread Starter
I'm looking at building a new PC and have enough money to get it running as of now goes.
First off these are the parts I have that will be used in this build.

HDD- 80GB WD BLACK SATA

Monitor- 19' HP LCD and/or 17' Gateway CRT

OD- Samsung CD/RW IDE

OD- Toshiba DVD Drive IDE

PSU- 250 PSU (had for a few years and it seems to be really high quality)

OS- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
__________________________________________________________________________

Parts looking at (I don't really want to go over $185)

Case- APEX SK-393-C Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case- $20

Motherboard- ECS IC780M-A2 (V1.0A) AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard- $50

GPU- PowerColor Go! Green AX5450 1GBK3-SH Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) 1GB 64-bit DDR3- $30

RAM- Team Elite 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model w/ heat sink- $18

CPU- AMD Sempron 145 Sargas 2.8GHz- $40

Case fans- (2) 80mm intake/exhaust- $6
__________________________________________________________________________

all together /w shipping is $176.91 USD

This should be a good backbone to have it boot and get windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit running and get everything warmed up for the upgrades.
__________________________________________________________________________

Parts knowing to upgrade (Give me what you think will be best for performance not cause you like NVIDIA or ATI)

CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 BE (95W) (most Motherboard can support)

GPU- AMD Radeon 6770 1GB GDDR5

RAM- 16GB DDR3 AMD Radeon Edition (it's not just going to be for gaming I make Music/Video's)

PSU- 750W PSU (any QUALITY brand; not going to spend $$$ to have it go out cause some PSU)

OD- ASUS Blu-Ray/RW w/ lightscribe

OD- Card reader

Monitor- 20'+ ASUS

HDD- 1TB WD black

SSD- OCZ 256GB
__________________________________________________________________________

Thinks in advance I'm not new at building PC's but this is my first PC build for me from a upgrade of my current 2003 PC.

I would personally scratch the ECS board. yes there are more costly boards out there....however i've never heard one single good thing about any ecs board, EVER. just my personal .02 and feel free to say that i should butt out.

for 200 bucks..shoot..new comp..i don't like the 250w psu..umm ..$200 ain't bad for a new comp :lachen.gif:
umm..biostar h61mgc and a celeron g530 is $116..it'd be a lot snappier than what you have listed..
but you'd still have a new case..(i just got one of those apex's thumb.gif )
then you can start on the upgrades..PSU 1st..
then RAM
maybe ssd..
mobo+cpu have to be together..
etc..etc..

I'm a AMD fan to be honest but how about these

How well does the i3 do. The only Intel I've ever had or used was a Willamette Celeron tongue.gif and a Pentium duel core and never had any luck with games/HD vids. I've heard of Biostar being decent but never used one so idk.

What's a good PSU for around $30 and under. I won't be using no $500 GPU yet so I don't think I will be using much power.
This is what i'm looking at.

I'm thinking it wont need more than 450W
