My first Fermi card was a 1.2gb 570 and it was great. I could run Arkham City, BF3, etc. on ultra (1080p) with only occasional hiccups. But after deciding to go with more monitors for a 3D surround setup (5760x1080), I sold it and bought a 2.5gb card. I don't have the extra monitors yet, but I can tell you that the extra VRAM makes a difference on today's games even at 1920x1080. I've only really monitored memory usage on BF3, but it regularly goes to 1600MB. My max frame rates are a little bit higher, but the biggest difference is that I no longer dip into the 30-35fps range. I just got another one of these and it's absolutely beautiful...I really think the 2560MB 570 holds the best value of any card on the market (got mine for $395 each).

Edit: the only thing I can think of is that the 1280mb fan seems to be a little better. My current card's makes just the slightest little buzz under heavy load, but it's still relatively quiet.

The EVGA GTX 570 HD 2.5GB. It's the only reason I didn't get a 580. I have two and I love'em. Frames in BF3 in SLI are anywhere from 40-80fps depending on the map. With just a single card I average 40-60. It never tips into the teens. They definitely haul ass.

I would hold out a little longer. The latest Leaked stats show the Nvidia 600 series will be pushing some amazing power. It will be nipin at the top AMD 7xxx model, and will cost more then $100 LESS then the current lineup.

I'd really say hold. It's what I am doing. And I'm a really impulsive buyer..haha

i would recommend on holding out as well. i'm going to, and the good thing about waiting is if for some weird reason the keplers don't perform up to par then u can get the 570 for a cheaper price. either way a win win if you can wait.

Don't get one, wait for the next nvidia gpu's. because then if they are out your price range get a 580 and be done with it.

Late Q1 mid Q2. But I am just giving a educated guess. Since they cannot allow ATI to gain much more ground.

Doesnt it bother you that the phony kepler rumors only talk about beating the 7970 but never mentions the power consumption or a realistic release date?

The 6970 2gb performs better for less.
