will there be no advantage of buying a six core if none of my apps use six cores?

what about windows boot time?

NO..It's not enough!
source:http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1766/15/ ...says 226w
Your PSU only has 216w on the rails
higher clocks(That's 226@ only 3.6Ghz)would be bad...

FX4100 takes about 6 seconds longer than a 965BE to boot
It's NOT a fast CPU
If you haven't bought it yet..
Get a 960T Zosma..It's a good notch Faster than a 965BE
click the plus sign on my sig wink.gif
Oc'd Zosma is 90% as fast at anything as a OC'd 2500K IMO
And does regular stuff (web surfing, windows apps..etc..) faster
Oh..and it might unlock to a six-core!

You know you're dealing with a LOL review/reviewer when a Scythe Yasya(push pins!???.) and a CM V6 GT(trash) beat a Thermalright Ultra, or when a Corsair A70(horrid base and horrid retention mechanism) trades blows with a VenomuX wink.gif
This is not the place for such a discussion so I'd just say this, Corsair has yet to make a good cooler, very few sites on the web do proper cooler reviews, the two that come to mind right now are Lab501 and X-bit.

@OP, yes go with the 960T, it's a best buy atm, a Thuban die with two cores locked(that unlock in most samples) with good overclocking potential.. your PSU would be fine for that too.

i think that site writes pretty decent review redface.gif
these are some other sites
HardOCP review on A70
Tweaktown Review on A70
i seems X-Bit forgot to write a review on the Corsair A70 tongue.gif

If I were try to be safe and get a new PSU that is abundantly enough for a unlocked and overclocked Phenom II X4 960T, then how many watts would I be looking for and what brand?

Is Antec good nowadays?

Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Add would this be overkill or should I wait for a cheaper deal and buy one with less watts?

That's why it says 226 watts, those number do not represent system load with a cpu alone.
