now that i am only on 512mb, i am thinking it may be worth while going to AM2, i found 3800+ and also a motherboard with AGP [only AGP though could always upgrade at a later date] and if i am only going to be running 512mb if the other 512mb cant be fix and they wont replace i am going to have to buy new ram so it may aswell be a AM2 DDR2 ram, so i am getting more or less same package except faster ram, and its going to cost a little more.

what you guys think? worth while?

IMHO, drop the water cooling and save the expense for other things. The BT VX with a little lapping will do fine That money saved could cover your RAM needs. Selling off your old MB/RAM/CPU/HSF could boost your cash reserves too!

hmmm yup, dont know who would want to buy them though , they are pretty old. i was thinking of selling them to my dad for £60 for the mobo, cpu, psu and ram. but i dunno yet will have to see. i am just thinking its going to cost me £200 for the motherboard CPU and memory, then a further £40 for the water cooling the 2nd one which i pointed out last time, the BT is around £20 or somthing, but would the water cooling be more effective, and importantly would it be more quieter?, been trying to modify my GFX card try stick a fan onto it, but all the fans i had were broke, which doesnt surprise me. but i am working to find some mods, still waiting for my PSU, been waiting 6 weeks for it now, really p**** take.

well here is what i was thinkin,

CPU: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=401099

Motherboard:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=443859

Memory:
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=202604

for the ram, just 1GB for now, will upgrade it when i get more money

in total new spec would be:

AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ AM2
Asrock AM2NF3-VSTA Motherboard [Upgrade when needed]
1Gb (2X512Mb) Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC5300 [Upgrade to 2GB when cash available]
Maxtor 80GB + 80GB [Upgrade to 200GB when cash available]
Nvidia Geforce 6200 256MB AGP Graphics Card
Creative Audigy2 ZS
430W Thermaltake PurePower PSU

So, is that ok, i am thinking when AGP becomes extinct i will have all the major technology to use anyway so simple upgrades would be easy to get hold of.

For driving lessons the most cost effective thing is to take a 6 week crash course over the summer I have been told, or get your parents/someone who can drive to teach you.

That's a fabulous build there that should last you a while. There's alot of new AGP cards coming out amazingly, IE the X1300XT, X1650Pro and 73-7600GT's
Which will give you some gaming power for quite a while down the road

oh cool, i am after somthing which i can use, if i need to at a late date upgrade to PCI-E its not a big step to take, at the minute it will be a big jump and cost effective to go into PCI-E, its a rather big step, and the GFX card i have is fairly new as it is. so i dont want to upgrade now if possible you know. try use as much of my hardware as i can to save money.

@niko-time

i have asked my mum and dad they just dont trust me PMSL, so oh well.
