Don't say quality? How does that prove that MacBook's aren't great quality? It's still fourth in the list which is okay, but that aside, the sample size was quite small, only 30,000 laptops in total, and no information is provided about what kind of faults occurred, nor any information about what models were tested.
Consider this though, the article was published on Nov 17 2009, which is roughly about two and half years ago, and the laptops tested had warranties on them through SquareTrade for three years, so that means these MacBook models would been from 2006, no? That's back when the plastic MacBook was around wasn't it? And long before we ever saw unibody systems?

How is that okay for a hardware that costs 2-3x more than ASUS and Toshiba?
It would be okay only if prices were be equal.
OK, here is 2011 article

What's your next excuse?
Apple is 40% less reliable than ASUS and IBM that cost far less. Also, if they have used IBM, ASUS and TOSHIBA models that were hi end (aka cost same as MBP), I am sure their reliability ratings would be even better.

) of a Macbook Pro 13. Toshiba and Asus are also improving their designs. Things are improving, just slowly.
