How many other languages do you know? For someone to hate vb (one of the easiest and most forgiving languages), i would question how many other languages they have experianced. Compaired to assembly or any languages used in FPGAs, VB cake walk.

I never said it wasn't, still hate VB. Its syntax is dumb, dumb and dumb.

VB's syntax is fine. It's no worse than Pascal and easily better than Python (but then I don't like whitespace used to define blocks).

Sometimes I think it's fashionable to rage at VB. I mean sure, it had its faults. But I think most of them boiled down to its dreadful runtime.

Assembly isn't really so bad once you figure out how it works. Ladder Logic programming for PLCs was fun to learn... Fortunately I didn't have to do too much with it. They aren't bad because they are simple.

I just don't like BASIC syntax.

VB and BASIC's syntax are very different from each other.

VB's syntax is closer to Pascal (well, Object Pascal / Delphi) than it is to the old days of BASIC.
