Also, don't forget that while certain models of the SGII have decent resolution, it was released with a horrid 800 x 480 display.
I wasn't speaking of the Nexus. I was referring to the SGII which is overall worse than the iPhone.
As for the Nexus, I personally believe it is a better phone (better OS, specs, display), but let us not forget several things; it is priced higher than the iPhone, its build quality is mediocre, and so is its camera. Also, its size is too big to be mainstream.
And so, the iPhone still remains competitive even with the GNex.

Since Apple is trying to get the Nexus banned, and that's what this thread is about, that's why I referred to it.

Price wise: Here in Canada, the Nexus is actually cheaper than the iPhone 4S with Rogers. I just checked Bell, and they are both priced at $649 outright, or $159 on a 3 year, so price wise they're even or better for the Nexus.

Check out the browser test comparing the iPhone and the Nexus, each individual can decide what's better for them. For me, I can never go back to using that 3.5" screen, it's just painful.

Apple's build quality?

If you ever drop it, don't forget what happens to the amazing build quality of the iPhone. rolleyes.gif

^^^^What he said.

And people who buy iPhones don't give 2 "poops" about it's functionality, whether the screen on another phone is better, whether it's faster or it can do more. They want to be able to say "I have an iPhone."

Why would anybody in their right mind or anybody who cares about functionality buy a phone from a company that took forever to catch up with the market to release 3g, and is taking just as long (while releasing "ground breaking new phones") to catch up with 4G.

Just goes to show you that the people who buy iphones aren't very smart and are just trying to keep up with fads.

(of course I'm biased, in case you didn't notice my sig lol)

It's either I have an I phone or I have a Mac. Thus they think all other products are inferior.

Prices vary worldwide plus there are special regional deals on all products, and that's why it is customary to discuss US MSRPs when discussing price; iPhone 4S is usually $200 subsidized ($700 retail) and Galaxy Nexus is $300 subsidized ($800 retail).

I understand, but millions of people do absolutely fine with 3.5". 4.65" is better no doubt, but 3.5" is absolutely adequate for viewing and allows you to use the device with one hand.

The build quality refers to the quality of materials used. The iPhone is more prone to damage, but you cannot deny that the glass and metal design is not only beautiful and sleek but the glass is also more pleasant material to touch. The Nexus uses a rather cheap plastic (for a high-end phone that is), and its build quality is lower than the SGII as well.

Also you forgot about my camera claim. wink.gif

How is it smart? The people who buy Apple products don't care about this. Well. Most of the population probably doesn't.

Your claim about build quality holds no truth and will change from person to person.
As for me and the other persons I know who dumped their iphones for a Nexus the back cover made of Hyper Skin material for increased grip feels great in the hand.

So far the aluminum of the the HTC amaze 4G feels the best.

The camera is great also. MP is not the only factor in image quality.
EDIT:
Quote:
As far as image quality is concerned, the Galaxy Nexus is an excellent performer. Resolved detail is on a really high level, colors and exposure are spot on and noise levels are kept under control.

I think most would agree that the iPhone is more attractive to look at with its glass and all that jazz....but how many people just stare at their phones without using them in a day to day situtation.... hmmsmiley02.gif

IMO if I wanted to stare at something beautiful, I would go to an art gallery or pick up an issue of FHM. But for a functional device I use everyday and drop from time to time, I choose plastic hands down. thumb.gif
