But I do know that the CPU side of folding is for precision, and the GPU side is for raw data.

I don't really think you can fold on two clients while on the same chip. I don't even think that the folding client would even accept the integrated graphics as a GPU. Even if it did the total PPD would take a massive hit compared to having the CPU client on its own.

You are correct, it does result in a massive hit. It would also be asking far to much to hope a client to be made that would utilize both simaltaniously.

But if I can find a way to keep my laptop hooked up to an ISP for 24 hours I'll get to some folding for science!

Honestly you don't even need it hooked up for that long straight. Once you download the WU you don't actually need the internet. Depending on the unit it will take a few hours to complete. I know on my i5 760 it takes about 5-7 hours to finish a WU depending on which one I get.

Looks like I'm hovering around 4-7000 PPD on the stock 3GHz clock. I'm going to pick up a new heatsink and fan tomorrow and work on overclocking to see if I can get my number up.

Well I ran my machine for a little while but it was peaking at 58°C. To be on the safe side I picked up a Hyper 212 Plus and on the stock clock with 100% CPU usage to F@H I'm running 37°C. My score on the stock clock averaged out about 4800 PPD. Pitiful. LOL!

Given the drop in temps would it be safe to start overclocking?

Edit: My Core Temps are even lower than that according to CPUID Hardware Monitor. 28°C across the board.

Started OC'ing last night. Bumped it up to 3.4 GHz. Only issue I noticed was a warning popped up briefly that my 5v sensor had a high reading.
