If you are waiting for a month or 2 why not get a A10-6800k richland (should be out early june)? It would probably only cost around 20 bucks more and be a better chip. I'm sure that any 85x chipset will run them (with a bios update probably)

On a personal note I recently got a 631 quad core and here are my efforts thus far (not lab burst mode) http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2807602 I know early on folks got this to some crazy high number using lab burst mode, but apparently it was only useful for benching and not real performance. What is a realistic top clock on this without the lab burst mode? I currently only have junky boards so I cant raise the CPU volts any... but if i can expect another 300-400Mhz out of it, i may just invest in a good FM1 board.

I see that the A4-4000 is up on newegg now for only $45. Has anyone found any reviews on this thing yet? It doesn't even say what the iGPU on it is.

Looking to do a very low cost htpc for someone, and this is perfect for the budget.

There was some speculation that as far as the CPU was concerned Trinity Richland was only a 300MHz Trinity Virgo bump, but the following table shows the A10-6800K has a lower voltage pattern than the A10-5800K. Anyway, although no two processors will behave exactly alike, I post this as a starting point.

1.61V is the absolute maximum value for Richland APUs (Core VDD).
Beyond that point AMD cannot guarantee the functionality of the part, even after the voltage has been lowered to normal levels (i.e. permanent damage). On conventional cooling methods nothing above 1.55V should be used even for a short periods of time.

Can you tell us how APU Control Interface is developing and whether there is a W8 API for it to use yet?
