the Pro/Gen3 does look very nice but it's missing the ps/2 from the Deluxe version.
Would you also recommend any other accessories like cable ties, extra fans, etc to keep the interior looking clean and allow maximum airflow?

Tada: http://www.overclock.net/t/1014902/ocns-most-recommended-audio-products

As for cable ties simple black zipties work for me. I am a huge fan of the Corsair 600T http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681113900. I personally have a Cooler Master HAF X case. The 800D is a big case and is very nice. I'm truly a corsair fanboy and think very highly of their products. I think the 800D is huge for what you are putting in it. As for fans alot of people here will tell Scythe 120mm Gentle Typhoons Ap-15's. They are quiet and have great cfm, but they are hard to find and around 16-20 bucks each. I personally advise for Scythe "Slipstream" 120mm fans for the front intake fans and 1 for the exhaust, but it depends on what case you get. If you could pick a case I could help you further. thumb.gif also side note I strongly advise you get a Corsair H100 watercooler over the air coolers. It isn't AS efficient as a custom waterloop, but it is better than air coolers. it is a closed loop with ZERO maintenance. I personally own and SOOO HAPPY! GREAT teamps. thumb.gif

You should look into the Crucial M4 and the Samsung 830 for SSDs. If you want PCIe 3.0 you need ivy too thumb.gif

Get the NH-14 if you have cash to spare, the CM hyper if your on a budget. The amount of cooling on the noctua is great along with the sound factor, but there is a premium for it.

Also, for what you are using the computer for, I would just get the 2500k, those task are pretty simple and don't really benefit from hyperthreads.

And what cans are you thinking of getting with that sound card?

Hi guys,

Spent additional time doing research on everyone's recommendations while still in the office right now.

I decided to wait for the Ivy bridge to be release in April as I would like the pci-e 3.0 to be enabled with the HD7970 video card.

So I'll go ahead and still get the ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 and wait for Ivy bridge. Unless anyone else has another recommendation for the motherboard that is ivy bridge proof.

I think I'm either going to get the CM Storm Trooper or Cooler Master Sniper (Leaning slightly towards CM Storm Trooper). Can you guys recommend any additional fans/accessories for these cases?

The Corsair H100 watercooler looks awesome but from reading some customer reviewers from newegg that bought it a couple of months ago (2012) that they seem to have relocated to another production factory and has a lot of quality control issues (water leaking, etc) for the latest batch.

The NH-14 does seem like the safest and "coolest" route but it is indeed an eyesore... It would be wonderful to find something with similar performance that matches my setup. Will definitely try overclocking the cpu and video card so a good cooling system is needed. Wonder if the Hyper 212 would be enough though for the price, etc.

Sound card wise I'm going to settle on a Asus Xonar Essence ST and the cans I'm using currently is the Audio Technica AD700's. I'm mainly a headphone guy and will probably be buying another high end headphone in the near future once I save up enough cash.

Appreciate the feed back gentlemen smile.gif

Just real quick note on newegg reviews...Don't beleive **** they say. The reviews are very unreliable. XD 10 bucks says that if your H100 leaked Corsair would replace your stuff. I recommend Beyerdynamic DT770's over the AD700's, but that is just me. I just went through this check out the thread. http://www.overclock.net/t/1212508/cant-deicde-between-open-or-closed-700s thumb.gif Good stuff in there. The Hyper 212 plus is a great price/performance air cooler. I still stand by the H100 and say You would not be disappointed.

You got me sold on the H100 and DT770 Pro's! Question: did you get the 80 ohm or 250 ohm version? I read that the 80 ohm version has rattling noise inside the transducer when used with an amp?

Good to hear. I have the 80 ohm's and I have had zero problems with them. They sound so amazing with my Titanium Sound card. For the H100 I recommend Scythe AP-15's, Scythe S-Flex fans for the radiator. and if you don't want Led fans for the Trooper case I recommend Scythe Slipstream 120mm fans. If you do go with the Trooper case please do a Rig build thread and pm me when you do. I'd like to see someone use it. I've been eye balling it for a while and want to do a build with it. The material looks and feels great on that case. thumb.gif Glad I could help you out. cheers.gif

I couldn't locate the Scythe AP-15 and S-Flex. Would the 2 stock Corsair 120mm fans be enough? Couldn't I use the Scythe Slipstream 120mm fans for the radiator? Will definitely do a rig build smile.gif

Newegg S-Flex Out of stock at newegg, but you can deal through them if you buy certain amount. Amazon S-Flex I recommend Slipstreams for case airflow and S-Flex for Rads. Scythe AP-15 Good luck finding them not sold out, but they ARE out there. Amazon Ap-15's cost an arm and a leg if you want them. 30 bucks a fan kookoo.gif Gotta love supply and demand. You could use the Ap-15's for everything. These are my fan suggestions. Is there anything really wrong with the stock fans...no, but they don'y move as much air as the scythe and they are louder. You want high CFM with LOW dBA.
