At least members here will take care of their pcs and thier airflows are generally MUCH better than a OEM dell/hp which somone might have bought a gpu after their system and it run at 20-30 cel hotter due tot he crappy airflow.

not sure this statement could be any truer.
just if you buy from a forum, go with someone who has good seller feedback, and or a good reputation period.
I am not a fan of people buying used from ebay or whatever... but this forum... pretty safe you'll get good hardware.
we just like to upgrade alot, not because we have something go wrong with our cards.

Just sold my first card on here and I'm happy with the process. I'd hope ppl would buy from users with high rep. Rep is earned so users should be trusted.

Buy used! Good stuff at good prices.

I got very lucky with my GTX 260 core 216 from ebay, but I only bought it there cause it was $10-20 cheaper than the members here

I am very happy with my HIS 6790,plays everything @1080p on high details.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161371
It outperforms the 550Ti easily and runs super-cool.Especially if you are using a mATX case.(Hmm a 4870 in that mini-P180,could be pretty hot in there!)
That being said,if you are not going to overclock, your best value is a 6850 or 6870,this Gigabyte is a good bargain for a custom cooler

this HIS 6870 is an excellent deal

I have a 6850 in my system and I can play all the newer games even BF3.

I play SC2 on mine all the time and get great frames on ultra settings. Grab a 2gig version if you can. Im only on 1 gb.redface.gif

Thread Starter
So this should suit me needs?

Not 2gb but it should run Starcraft 2 and shogun2 well enough without breaking the bank.

Will I regret not going for a better card?
