Well I finally got around to un-boxing the EVGA P55 board I got back from RMA a while back. It's dead too :S
At least it only took 12 minutes on the phone to get another RMA approved with free shipping. Even though I haven't actually had a chance to really use an EVGA motherboard, I must say that EVGA has top-notch customer service.

Double-post fail from my bad connection, may as well make this post useful. I also dismantled the water-cooling for now since I'm traveling across country for work and don't feel like refilling my system and draining again so I put on the stock Intel heat sink for now until I can find a better one.

I swear this build has a curse of some kind. I've never seen more doa's and defective parts all centered around one computer

Of course I did, I had both the Asus board and the EVGA board right beside eachother. I had it down to just the PSU, CPU, heatsink, and 1 RAM stick. Intel's push-pins came in very handy for shifting the CPU back and forth.

That's what I forgot... to mention I had already ensured
I really don't know what the problem was, no beeps, fans spin up for a split-second, essentially enough time for the board to determine it has a short somewhere or something then shutdown.
