Did I offend you with my amount of fans? Seriously, just because a review says something about it doesn't mean I'm going to like its sound signature. How do you think I ended up buying fans I didn't end up using in the first place? Its a purely subjective topic, and I learned the best way is to buy just one of them and decide if you like it or not before buying more. This is like 5 years worth of fans in the picture.

GT fans are a bit quieter than the competition at the same RPM speeds, but at 1850 they still make noise. I had to get a fan controller and run them at 1000 RPM. I would recommend 1450 or even 1150 RPM Gentle Typhoons if you are in a silent room where the only thing making noise is your computer.

Also, IIRC, the AP-14 and down fans use a different motor from the AP-15 fans so if you undervolt the AP-15s on a fan controller, it might not be as smooth as an AP-14 or lower RPM equivalent.

Going from 1450 RPM from 1850 RPM would probably get you a 1-2 degree increase (depending on the thickness of the radiator) in temperatures at most, so it's not even noticeable compared to the increase in noise.
