Anyone have experience with setting up CORRECT Eyefinity on the 7970? I am stuck! What do I need?

I am having a major problem, I didn't know Eyefinity was such a headache! (If i knew this prior to ordering 3 New monitors, I would have gotten one 30" 3d Monitor) Anyways, How do you set this up without tearing? I have looked all over and cannot find a surefire way that works.

A HDMI to Display port came with my 7970 , MY 7970 has 2 Mini Display ports, 1 HDMI PORT, AND 1 dvi PORT

My displays-
3 x LG Flattron E2350V 23" LED LCD Screens (Max res. 1920x1080) (HDMI, D-SUB, DVI-D)
Bought these because CHEAP! 100$ each!

Heard if I don't use the same type of connection I will get tearing, Can you please help me?

All i need to know is what do i buy ? Ebay has some cheap stuff, but not sure what to get, what cable to I need to buy?

I also saw a converter Box type thing that one display port hooked into and then 3 split from that box, where do I find this cheap if it is what i need?

So lost

At this point I would donate $$$ via pay pal for help! God bless and let me know if anyone has done this! thanks

This is my build

i7 2600k (Evo 212 Aftermarket Cooler, Dual Fans)
Asus Gene IV Gen-3 mATX
G-Skill 8GB Ripp Jaws 2133
120GB Corair GT series 120GB SSD
XFX 7970 OC Black Edition
XFX Bronze Cert. 850W Pro Series PSU
2TB Hitachi Storage 7200rpm
3 x LG Flattron E2350V 23" LED LCD Screens (Max res. 1920x1080) (HDMI, D-SUB, DVI-D)

What tearing are you experiencing? I have mine on 797CF and they run without a hitch. Only issue I had was getting Dirt 3 across them.

This how mine is setup if it give you any ideas:

Monitor 1 is DVI > DVI

Monitor 2 is DVI > miniDisplayPort Adapter > HDMI (http://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-003J-UltraAV-miniDisplayPort-Dual-Link/dp/B0030XMREG) Kind of expensive but I bought it a while ago and has always worked on all gpus I have had.

Monitor 3 is DVI > to mini display port

Hope it helps you out.

I havent actually got my system put together yet, (waiting on a case) I was just reading up on how to install all this, and people say tearing occurs say if you use, one hdmi to dvi, one mini dp to dvi and one mini display to hdmi

My GPU came with A HDMI to DVI , can I use that?

So i need this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-DisplayPort-Display-Port-DVI-D-Cable-Adapter-/140674234842?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c0d679da

Will that work?

And that one you gave me a link too, Why does it have to be that expensive, good gosh? WHAT ABOUT this one from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999032

is there a way to just use 3 HDMI cables? Like get to Mini Display port to HDMI port and use a regular HDMI for 1st monitor?

Is eyfinity worth it? Should I just send these monitors back and get one big 3d 120hz monitor?

No, you cannot just use three HDMI cables you need an active adapter like the one linked to above.

This is the one I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002ISVI3U/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1329081485&sr=8-1

I appreciate all your input, thank you so much! I found this one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999032 , I am just going off what you say, How i need one with active, Will this one from new egg work?

POWERCOLOR Active DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Adapter DP-SL DVI-D ADAPTER Display Port (male) to DVI-D (female) Interface
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999032

Its only like 30$

And if I cant use it, then i will buy that expensive one you linked me too, Will i need anything else? What cable do i get does it matter? Do you have a link for what you use?

I will copy your exact set up if you would be kind enought to link me to everything, be greatly appreciated, I have spent countless hours researching and keep finding conflicting info

Thanks in advance, you all rock

I would be careful buying an adapter non-Eyefinity certified. I used to own a cheap adapter like the Powercolor one, which was not Eyefinity certified, and it died unexpectedly after a year. However, if you are comfortable with buying a non-certified adapter:
-it will only work if your resolution is 1920x1200 or less
-it will only work at 60 Hz

Personally if you only need a single link adapter you should get this one

The cable you end up using does not matter. DVI and HDMI are both digital signals so they either work or do not work. Do not use VGA: it's analog, suspectible to RF interference, outdated, and depending on the quality of the cable image quality can vary a lot.

My functional Eyefinity setup consists of the following:
-Card-->Displayport-->Active Displayport adapter-->DVI cable-->monitor
-Card-->DVI-->DVI cable-->monitor
-Card-->DVI-->DVI cable-->monitor

Great! Thanks, Ok so im sure you can tell this is my first real build, I got one more dump Q , My monitor has a DVI port that says its a DVI-D , and it has all the little hole connections and then a minus sign type hole at the end of the little ones, my GPU has a + sign at the end of the holes, does it matter what kind of dvi cords i get? can you send me in the right direction, maybe a link to a cheap set?

So this is what I am going to do, I will get the one you linked to, the active display to DVI then I will buy a Mini display to DVI and another one, and 3 DVI cables, does this sound right? again my GPU only has one DVI port and 2 mini displays, do you know of a goo dadapter for this?
Or i could go ,

GPU-HDMI-HDMI to DVI adpater-DVI cable to monitor
GPU-DVI-Dvi cable to monitor
GPU-Mini Display port-Active display port adapter-DVi cable to monitor?

DVI-D and DVI-I are compatible. Just plug the DVI-D from monitor to DVI-I of 7970.

You are set and good to go. No need further clarification.

This is the active adapter for 7970 if one is not supplied with the purchase of 7970.
