PC restarts after Shutdown is pressed.

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

So after i swaped out my PSU for a new one Corsair sent me i went ahead to click shutdown on my windows 7 and it shuts down and after a good couple seconds it fires up again. I tried pressing the power button and it will shutdown and shortly after come back up again. I have to actually hold the power button to force it to shut down so it stays shut off.

I did some searching and edited registry so Autorestart is set to 0 and i also went into advance options under computer properties and made sure that "Automatic restart on failure" is checked off.

Does anyone have any clues to what this may be?

Thanks.

Dav

Are you sure the front panel case wires are correctly connected on the Mobo still? Might have bumped em when replacing the PSU. If it reboots after selecting shutdown in Windows that is strange and I don't have a clue tongue.gif Would have to Google that one lol

unplug your power button from the motherboard, and turn it around.

I dunno why, but that worked for me.

do you have a lighted power button?

Also, if you haven't already, check your bios settings. I was looking through the settings in my UD3P the other day and noticed a setting that would make it so you have to hold down the power button for 5 sec for it to turn off. I know they're completely different mobos but it's worth checking at least.
