Computer won't "wake up"

Thread Starter
Small problem that has started recently. I run my windows on the maximum performance power setting, and only my monitor turns off after 30 min. My problem is getting the computer to recognize that I am back and getting the monitor to come back on. It only does this sometimes, other times it works fine.

Thanks in advance.

Had the same problem, I notice I have the same MB. I turned off EPU, stopped it from shutting down the hard drive, seemed to do the trick.

Ok I will check that, but it has just started and my BIOS has been the same for about 4 months.

no, its a power consumption program comes with the motherboard, does afterburner also look like a little airplane? anyways yeah, the problem i was having is th HD wouldnt wake up after a sleep, so i turned that option off in there as well as in windows power settings, figured it was because the ssd didnt need sleep and was hanging, but yeah, after i did that no more problems.

Try deleting you hibernation file to keep it from doing it again. I too had this problem then I deleted the hibernation file and I noticed my computer goes to sleep and wakes up a lot quicker now. Guide here http://www.windows7hacker.com/index.php/2009/05/what-is-hiberfilsys-and-how-to-delete-in-windows-7-free-up-hard-drive-space/

My ASUS p8p67 Pro did this, a BIOS update fixed it.

BIOS Update, or make sure hard drive turn off is disabled under:
Control Panel>Power Options>Change Plan Settings>Advanced Power Settings
