BenQ XL2420T or FW900

I'm looking into buying a new monitor. I have been playing on a 2ms LCD monitor (Acer P241W) for a few years now. I'm getting back into competitive gaming and wanted to pick up a new monitor. The two I've been looking into are the new BenQ XL2420T or the old but beautiful FW900.

The only places I could find the FW900 are Here and Here

The first one, I'm a little worried about the quality as it is a final sale and there are no images on it. The second one, while it looks great, is a bit pricey. While money isn't really the issue, just want to make sure I'm getting the best value.

I wanted to get some opinions. Desk space and weight. Just wanted to get some opinions on value and see where else I could look if I do go for the FW900.

Main Games:
Counter-Strike
League of Legends
Battlefield 3
Quake Live
DOTA 2
Starcraft 2

out of curiousity, what is leading you to the benq monitor (is it price? quality?)
I too am looking to replace my current monitor, but I am looking into the 27" range. Then I remember about the king of crt monitors (fw900) and thought I would go looking for one, but they are very hard to find (thx for the link tongue.gif). I only came across the ebay link when I went searching.
Anyway, I think I would go with the fw900, you wont be able to beat it. If you have forgetten what it is like to view a quality crt, I think you would be ok to go with the 120hz lcd. In the competitive fps world, you would be wise to stick with the fw900 my 2c.

The BenQ seems to be the best 120hz monitor out right now. That's pretty much the only reason i was looking into it. I'm tempted to go for the FW900 but hoping to find the best place to buy it or hopefully what some users think of the BenQ vs CRT. Might even look into anyting comparable to the FW900.

FW900 completely blows any LCD out of the water. I just had a friend who bought one of the $375 ones with free shipping. He removed the anti-glare and said it was near perfect monitor.

That is my FW900 in the middle flanked by two 2ms 120Hz Samsungs. The FW900 stays clear in camera spinning and well um, I think you can tell by the 120Hz LCD's. I may buy two more FW900's just for 3x FW900 Surround with Kepler. biggrin.gif

Wow, good to know someone had the 375 one work out. Looks great and I am definitely looking into the FW900. How would one remove the anti glare if there was problems with it?

Edit: Found a thread on it already :]

It is quite an eye opening experience going from even a 120Hz LCD to the FW900. You realize how your eyes have gotten used to viewing blurred images in motion with LCD's. When the motion becomes crystal clear with the FW900 it is amazing.
